Never Alone
By Virginia Brandt

A young man, planning to take his life by leaping from a hotel window,
knocked a Gideon Bible off the table as he moved towards the window. In
the
fall, the Bible opened. Curious to see just what it said where it
opened, he
read this verse: You ... will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone,
because
the Father is with Me (John 16:32 NKJ).

The man's wife had left him, and it seemed that that passage was a dir
ect
message to him. He sat down and read it over and over. Yet I am not
alone,
because the Father is with Me.

Wanting to know more about that Father, he read other passages, and read
on
and on into the night. And such a wonderful thing happened-he received
hope
from the Author of those pages, and both his life and soul were
miraculously
saved.

To every one of us, from time to time, there comes a sense of utter
loneliness. Some tears are always shed alone. No other human being can
ever
enter the deepest recesses of our mind or heart or soul.

But why? Because God made us for Himself. He desires our love. He put a
little sign on the table of your heart, which reads, "Reserved for Me."
In
every heart, He wishes to be first. He therefore keeps the secret key
Himself, the key to open all our hearts' chambers and to bless with
perfect
sympathy and peace each solitary soul that comes to Him.

So when you feel this loneliness, it is the voice of Jesus saying, "Come
to
Me." And every time you feel that no one understands, it is a call for
you
to come to Him again.

God Bless You

The Will To Win

If you want a thing bad enough
To go out and fight for it,
Work day and night for it,
Give up your time and your peace and
your sleep for it

If only desire of it
Makes you quite mad enough
Never to tire of it,
Makes you hold all other things tawdry
and cheap for it

If life seems all empty and useless without it
And all that you scheme and you dream is about it,

If gladly you'll sweat for it,
Fret for it, Plan for it,
Lose all your terror of God or man for it,

If you'll simply go after that thing that you want.
With all your capacity,
Strength and sagacity,
Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity,

If neither cold poverty, famished and gaunt,
Nor sickness nor pain
Of body or brain
Can turn you away from the thing that you want,

If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it,
You'll get it!

Use Your Imagination to Find Success

Visualize what you want.
See it, Feel it, Believe in it.

Your mind is a mental workshop.
You can build anything in it.
Make your mental blueprint,
And begin to build.

The beginning is in your imagination;
First think, then organize your thoughts into plans
Then transform your thoughts into reality by taking some positive
action.

Use your imagination to perceive your reality,
Even when it is not fully materialized.

You must first see it clearly in your mind
Before you can do it.

First visualize and then actualize your way
To success.

You really can live your dreams.
All you need to do is try.

The Buzzard, The Bat, and the Bumblebee...........

If you put a buzzard in a pen six or eight feet square and entirely open
at
the top, the bird, in spite of his ability to fly, will be an absolute
prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the
ground with a run of ten or twelve feet. Without space to run, as is his

habit, he will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for
life
in a small jail with no top.

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble
creature in
the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the
floor or
flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt,
painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can
throw
itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

A Bumblebee if dropped into an open tumbler will be there until it dies,

unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top,
but
persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the
bottom.
It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys
itself.

In many ways, there are lots of people like the buzzard, the bat and the

bee. They are struggling about with all their problems and frustrations,
not
realizing that the answer is right there above them.

How do you live your life?

Every single one of us lived our lives a different way.
Some of us grew strong, while others grew weaker by each day.
Some of us were healthy, while others were sick.
Some of us flew through the day, while others watched the minutes tick.
Some of us ran to help those in need,
While others took advantage and strengthened their greed.

Some of us were wealthy, while others remained poor.
Some of the diseases destroyed lives, while scientists searched for the
cure.
Some of us were fair, while others were not.
Some of us got away while others got caught.
Some of us were athletic while others remained still.
Some of us treasured life, while others searched for a way to kill.

Some of us were not afraid, while others remained meek.
Some of us were popular, while others were named as "the geek"
Some of us believed in God, while others didn't care.
Some of us believed life was cruel, while others believed it was fair.
Some of us lived life to the fullest, while others threw it all away.
Some of us gave up, while others seized the day.

Though we all lived different lives, we have not lived them in vain.
All we were given was a life to live, with everything to gain.

Ask yourself:
what am I going to do with my life, live with purpose and meaning or
live
with no purpose and no meaning?

Carry On!!
By Robert W. Service.

It's easy to fight when everything's right,
And you're mad with the thrill and the glory;
It's easy to cheer when victory's near,
And wallow in fields that are gory.
It's a different song when everything's wrong.
When you're feeling infernally mortal;
When it's ten against one, and hope there is none,
Buck up, little soldier, and chortle:

Carry on! Carry on!
There isn't much punch in your blow.
You're glaring and staring and hitting out blind;
You're muddy and bloody, but never mind.
Carry on! Carry on!
You haven't the ghost of a show.
It's looking like death, but while you've a breath,
Carry on, my son! Carry on!

And so in the strife of the battle of life
It's easy to fight when you're winning;
It's easy to slave, and starve and be brave,
When the dawn of success is beginning.
But the man who can meet despair and defeat
With a cheer, there's a man of God's choosing;
The man who can fight to Heaven's own height
Is the man who can fight when he's losing.

Carry on! Carry on!
Things never were looming so black.
But show that you haven't a cowardly streak,
And though you're unlucky you never are weak.
Carry on! Carry on!
Brace up for another attack.
It's looking like hell, but - you never can tell;
Carry on, old man! Carry on!

There are some who drift out in the deserts of doubt,
And some who in brutishness wallow;
There are others, I know, who in piety go
Because of a Heaven to follow.
But to labor with zest, and to give of your best,
For the sweetness and joy of the giving;
To help folks along with a hand and a song;
Why, there's the real sunshine of living.

Carry on! Carry on!
Fight the good fight and true;
Believe in you mission, greet life with a cheer;
There's big work to do, and that's why you are here.
Carry on! Carry on!
Let the world be the better for you;
And at last when you die, let this be your cry:
Carry on, my soul! Carry on!

The Ant

One morning I wasted nearly an hour watching a tiny ant carry a huge
feather
cross my back terrace. Several times it was confronted by obstacles in
its
path and after a momentary pause it would make the necessary detour.

At one point the ant had to negotiate a crack in the concrete about 10mm
wide. After brief contemplation the ant laid the feather over the crack,
walked across it and picked up the feather on the other side then
continued
on its way. I was fascinated by the ingenuity of this ant, one of God's
smallest creatures. It served to reinforce the miracle of creation. Here
was
a minute insect, lacking in size yet equipped with a brain to reason,
explore, discover and overcome. But this ant, like the two-legged
co-residents of this planet, also share human failings.

After some time the ant finally reached its destination - a flower bed
at
the end of the terrace and a small hole that was the entrance to its
underground home. And it was here that the ant finally met its match.
How
could that large feather possibly fit down small hole

Of course it couldn't. so the ant, after all this trouble and execrising
great ingenuity, overcoming problems all along the way, just abandoned
the
feather and went home.

The ant had not thought the problem through before it began its epic
journey
and in the end the feather was nothing more than a burden. Isn't life
like
that!

We worry about our family, we worry about money or the lack of it, we
worry
about work, about where we live, about all sorts of things. These are
all
burdens - the things we pick up along life's path and lug them around
the
obstacles and over the crevasses that life will bring, only to find that
at
the destination they are useless and we can't take them with
us...............

The Careless Lion

Once upon a time, there was a very wealthy man living in Benares who
owned a
large herd of cattle. He hired a man to look after them.

During the time of year when the rice paddies were filled with the green

growing rice plants, the herdsman took the cattle to the forest to
graze.
From there he brought the milk and butter and cheese to the rich man in
Benares.

It just so happened that. being in the forest put the cattle in a very
frightening situation. There was a meat eating lion living nearby.
Sensing
the presence of the lion kept the cattle in constant fear. This made the

cows tense and high-strung, leaving them too weak to give more than a
little
milk.

One day the owner of the cattle asked the herdsman why he was bringing
such
a small amount of milk and butter and cheese. He replied, "Sir, cows
need to
be calm and contented to give much milk. Due to a nearby lion, your cows
are
always afraid and tense. So they give hardly any milk."

"I see. " said the rich man. Thinking like an animal trapper, he asked,
"Is
the lion closely connected to any other animal?" The herdsman answered,
"Sir, there happens to be a variety of deer living in the forest. They
are
called 'minideer' because they are so small. Even the adults only grow
to be
about one foot tall. The lion has become very friendly with a certain
minideer doe."

The rich man of Benares said, "So that my cows will be at peace and able
to
give their usual milk, this is what you are to do. Capture the lion's
friend
and rub poison all over her body. Then wait a couple days before
releasing
her. She will be like bait in a trap for the lion. When he dies, bring
his
body to me. Then my cows will be safe and happy again."

The herdsman followed his boss's orders exactly. When the lion saw his
favorite minideer doe he was so overjoyed that he threw all caution to
the
wind. Without even sniffing the air around her, he immediately began
licking
her excitedly all over. Because of too much joy and not enough caution,
he
fell into the poisonous trap. The poor lion died on the spot.

The Learning is: Too much of a good thing can be dangerous.

Peace I Seek YOU

From the turmoils of perturbed mind
from the bottom of my disturbed heart
Peace, its you that I seek
Its about you that I speak

With every relation so fragile
and desperation to keep them alive
Promises broken, confession spoken
All this and more to keep thyself high
Whom am I fooling, whom am I seeking

And, when a brother of mine is dead
All I manage is a small sigh
Engulfed in blood and hatred
All I see and hear is lies and lies
Whom am I fooling, whom am I seeking

With feelings so strong to try and try
To help her who is left to cry
My limbs fails me and I despise
That the mind thinks and heart cries
Whom am I fooling, whom am I seeking

Whom am I fooling, whom am I seeking?
I seek you peace, I really do
I never realized I long for you
Now that I do, I just want you
In death atleast, I seek you

Just Because

Just because no one has been fortunate enough to realize what a gold
mine
you are,
doesn't mean you shine any less.

Just because no one has been smart enough to figure out that you can't
be
topped,
doesn't stop you from being the best.

Just because no one has come along to share your life,
doesn't mean that day isn't coming.

Just because no one has made this race worth while,
doesn't give you permission to stop running.

Just because no one has realized how much of a woman you are,
doesn't mean they can affect your femininity.

Just because no one has come to take the loneliness away,
doesn't mean you have to settle for a lower quality.

Just because no one has shown up who can love you on your level,
doesn't mean you have to sink to theirs.

Just because you deserve the very best there is,
doesn't mean that life is always fair.

Just because God is still preparing your king,
doesn't mean that you're not already a queen.

Just because your situation doesn't seem to be progressing right now,
doesn't mean you need to change a thing.

Ten Commandments for Peace of Mind

1. Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others'
affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our
way
is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not
conform
to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction,
our
direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and
consequently the existence of God. God has created each one of us in a
unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same
way.

All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts
them
that way. There is God to look after everything. Why are you bothered?
Mind
your own business and you will keep your peace.

2. Forgive And Forget
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill
feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We
nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development
of
stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done
once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly
remembering
it. Get over this bad habit. Believe in the justice of God and the
doctrine
of Karma. Let Him judge the act of the one who insulted you. Life is too

short to waste in such trifles. Forgive, Forget, and march on. Love
flourishes in giving and forgiving.

3. Do Not Crave For Recognition
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without

selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but
no
sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and
will
start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yourself in
striving
for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation.
Do
your duties ethically and sincerely and leave the rest to God.

4. Do Not Be Jealous
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You
know
that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes
they
get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago,
but
you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one
year
old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you
be
jealous? No.Remember everybody's life is shaped by his or her previous
Karma, which has now become his destiny. If you are destined to be rich,

nothing in the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one
can
help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your
misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away
your
peace of mind.

5. Change Yourself According To The Environment
If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are
you
will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do
this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will
mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.

6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day
we
face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that
are
beyond our control. If we cannot control them or change them, we must
learn
to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully
thinking, "God wills it so, so be it." God's plan is beyond our
comprehension. Believe in it and you will gain in terms of patience,
inner
strength and will power.

7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew
This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more

responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to
satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. Why take on additional loads
that
may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your

external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in
prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in

your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater
peace of mind.

8. Meditate Regularly
Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is
the
highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you
meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to
become
peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind
will
not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually

increasing the period of daily mediation. You may think that this will
interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your

efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.

9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant
An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the
vacant
mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something
worthwhile.
Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must

decide what you value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like
social
work or temple work, may not always earn you more money, but you will
have a
sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting
physically,
occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.

10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret
Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?"
Days,
weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating.
You
can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future
happenings. Always remember, God has His own plan, too for you. Value
you
time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you
fail
the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next
time.

Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your
mistakes,
but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was
destined to happen only that way. Take it as the Will of God. You do not

have the power to alter the course of God's Will. Why cry over spilt
milk?

All Is Not Lost!

A 10-year-old boy decided to study judo despite the fact that he had
lost
his left arm in a devastating car accident. The boy began lessons with
an
old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't
understand
why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one
move.
"Sensei," the boy finally said, "Shouldn't I be learning more moves?"
"This
is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to

know," the sensei replied. Not quite understanding, but believing in his

teacher, the boy kept training.

Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament.
Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third
match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent
became
impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the
match.
Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals. This time,
his
opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the
boy
appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the
referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the
sensei
intervened.

"No," the sensei insisted, "Let him continue." Soon after the match
resumed,
his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly,
the
boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the
tournament.

He was the champion. On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every
move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask
what
was really on his mind. "Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only
one
move?" "You won for two reasons," the sensei answered. "First, you've
almost
mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second,
the
only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left
arm." The boy's biggest weakness had become his biggest strength.

"Sometimes we feel that we have certain weaknesses and we blame god, the

circumstances and our self for it but we never know that our weakness
can
become our strength one day. Each of us is special and important, so
never
think you have any weakness, never think of pride or pain, just live
your
life to its fullest and extract the best out of it!"

A Child to Love

You can have your wealth and riches
All the things so many seek,
Position, power, and success,
The fame you long to keep.

You can earn as much as you wish,
Reach a status high above,
But none of these can equal
Having one sweet child to love.

'Tis the greatest gift from heaven,
Little arms that hold you tight,
And a kiss so soft and gentle
When you tuck them in at night.

A million precious questions
And each story often read,
Two eyes so bright and smiling,
And a darling tousled head.

God has never matched the goodness
Of a trusting little face,
Or a heart so full of laughter
Spreading sunshine every place.

A child to hold and cuddle,
'Tis a gift from God above,
And the world is so much brighter
When you have a child to love.

the farmer to ask his permission. The farmer looked him over and said,
"Son, go stand out in that field. I'm going to release three bulls,
one at a time. If you can catch the tail of any one of the three bulls,
you
can
marry my daughter."

The young man stood in the pasture awaiting the
first bull. The barn door opened and out ran the biggest,
meanest-looking
bull
he had ever seen. He decided that one of the next bulls had to be a
better
choice than this one, so he ran over to the side and let the bull pass
through the pasture out the back gate. The barn door opened again.
Unbelievable. He had never seen anything so big and fierce in his life.

It stood pawing the ground, grunting, slinging slobber as it eyed him.
Whatever the next bull was like, it had to be a better choice than this
one. He ran to the fence and let the bull pass through the pasture, out
the back gate.

The door opened a third time. A smile came across his
face. This was the weakest, scrawniest little bull he had ever seen.
This
one was his bull. As the bull came running by, he positioned himself
just
right and jumped at just the exact moment. He grabbed... but the bull
had
no tail!

Life is full of opportunities. Some will be easy to take
advantage of, some will be difficult. But once we let them pass (often
in hopes of something better), those opportunities may never again be
available. So always grab the first opportunity.

WORTH READING 2 Aug 2005

24 Interludes of Life

1. Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth even that
fades
away. Go for someone who makes you smile.

2. There are moments in life when you really miss someone that you want
to
pick them up from your dreams and hug them. Hope you dream of that
someone.

3. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you
want
to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the
things
you want in life.

4. May you have...Enough happiness to make you sweet
Enough trials to make you strong
Enough sorrow to keep you human
Enough hope to make you happy
And enough money to keep you comfortable.

5. When one door of happiness closes, another opens. But we often took
so
long at the closed door, that we don't see the one which has been opened
for
us.

6. The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch, swing
with,
never saying a word and then walk away feeling like that was the best
conversation you've had.

7. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but
it's
also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

8. Always put yourself in other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you,
it
probably does hurt the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle a strife;
A cruel word may wreck a life
A timely word may level stress
A lovely word may heal and bless.

10. The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly
themselves
and not to twist them with our own image, otherwise we love only the
reflection of ourselves we find in them.

11. The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything,
they
just make the most of everything that comes along the way.

12. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the
right
one so that when we finally meet the right person, we should know how to
be
grateful for that gift.

13. It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like
someone
and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

14. Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have
searched and those who have tried. For only they can appreciate the
importance of people who have touched their lives.

15. Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, the romance and
find out you still care for that person.

16. A sad thing about life is that when you meet someone who means a lot
to
you only to find out in the end that it was never bound to be and you
just
have to let go.

17. Love starts with a smile, develops with a kiss and ends with a tear.

18. Love comes to those who still hope even though they've been
disappointed, to those who still believe even though they've been
betrayed,
need to love those who still love, even though they've been hurt before.

19. It hurts to love someone, and not to be loved in return but what is
most
painful is to love someone and never finds the courage to let the person
know how you feel.

20. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past. You
can't
go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and
heartaches.

21. Never say goodbye when you still want to try;
Never give up when you still feel you can take it;
Never say you don't love that person anymore when you can't let go.

22. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love
you
back. Don't expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in their
hearts
but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.

23. There are things you love to hear but you would never hear it from
the
person whom you would like to hear it from, but don't be deaf to hear it
from the person who says it with his heart.

24. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was
smiling.
Live your life to the fullest so that when you die, you're smiling and
everyone
around you is crying.

WORTH READING 1 Aug 2005

When I'm an old lady, I'll live with each kid,
And bring so much happiness...just as they did.
I want to pay back all the joy they've provided.
Returning each deed! Oh, they'll be so excited!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

I'll write on the wall with reds, whites and blues,
And I'll bounce on the furniture...wearing my shoes.
I'll drink from the carton and then leave it out.
I'll stuff all the toilets and oh, how they'll shout!
(When I'm and old lady and live with my kids)

When they're on the phone and just out of reach,
I'll get into things like sugar and bleach.
Oh, they'll snap their fingers
and then shake their heads,
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

When they cook dinner and call me to eat,
I'll not eat my green beans or salad or meat,
I'll gag on my okra, spill milk on the table,
And when they get angry...I'll run...if I'm able!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

I'll sit close to the TV, through the channels I'll click,
I'll cross both eyes just to see if they stick.
I'll take off my socks and throw one away,
And play in the mud 'til the end of the day!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

And later in bed, I'll lay back and sigh,
I'll thank God in prayer and then close my eyes.
My kids will look down with a smile slowly creeping,
And say with a groan, "She's so sweet when she's sleeping!"
God Bless All Moms and Grandmas Everywhere!
