Into Each Life

Into each life a little rain will fall,
but if you have a friend,
you can bear it all,
for a friend is an umbrella,
to hold above your head,
and help you think about,
the sunny days instead

Into each life a little sun will shine,
but if you have a friend,
it will always be fine,
for if you can share the sunny times,
with a friend that will be ground,
as you talk and walk together,
securely hand in hand

Into each life a little wind will blow,
but if you have a friend,
to whom you can go,
your friend can help to guide you,
can help you make the choice,
by offering their view,
and adding a new voice

Into each life like leaves things will fall,
but if you have a friend,
you know that you can call,
they'll always steer you clearly,
when their counsel's sought,
for a friend is like a safety net,
in which you will be caught.

Into each life a friend will come to you,
for if you have a friend,
you'll know what to do,
when a problem shows itself,
for a friend is there to share,
to offer an opinion,
and show that someone cares

Into my life my friend came as you,
for I know I have a friend,
to share experiences old or new,
in the rain, sun, wind, or fall,
who is loving, loyal, and most true,
that sees my best qualities,
and knows I am their friend too...

The Devil?s Tool

There is a touching, little story told us of a Buddhist bhikkhu. He was the
son of a nobleman and lived in a palace. Coming under the influence of the
Buddha, he renounced his wealth and comfort and accepted the hardships of a
mendicant?s life. He slept on the bare ground: he ate what he got by way of
alms. Suddenly, he got an attack of rheumatic pain. At first, he treated it
with indifference. Days passed by: the pain persisted. He could not walk
with ease. At times, he could not meditate properly. He felt miserable. Gone
was the joy of his life. However hard he tried, he could not recapture the
peace, which once belonged to him.

One day, he found a little girl playing with her friends. She hobbled on
sticks: but her face was a picture of joy. She was happy as a wave dancing
on the sea. Seeing her, the bhikkhu felt ashamed of himself. ?The little
girl has only one leg and is bright and happy,? he said to himself. ?And I,
a disciple of the Buddha, despair because of a little pain!?

Sadness is not due to what happens to us: it is due to what happens within
us. Significant are the words of Oliver Cromwell, the man who must have
faced dangers and difficulties almost everyday:- ?I bless God I have been
inured to difficulties and I never found God failing when I trusted in Him.?
If only we learnt to trust Him, in all situations and circumstances of life,
no disappointment or depression would be able to touch us.

The man who has learnt the art of living draws, from the trials and
tribulations of life, the strength he needs to serve God and His suffering
creation. Difficulties, disappointments melt away before a man who has a
cheerful disposition.

A significant story tells us of how the devil announced that he was going
out of business and that he would sell his tools at a discounted price.

The tools were attractively displayed. They included self-love, egoism,
sensuality, hatred, wrath, greed, envy, jealousy, passion for power, etc.

There was, however, one tool which appeared to be much worn out. The devil
was not prepared to part with it except for an exceedingly exorbitant price.

Someone asked him:- ?What is that??

The devil answered:- ?That is discouragement and depression.?

?Why is it priced so high??

?Because to me it has proved to be the most useful. When all other tools
fail, I can, with this single tool, pry open the heart of man, and do my
work. If only I succeed in making a man feel discouraged, disheartened, I
can make him do what I like. I have used this tool almost on every man, that
is why it is so much worn out.?

It has truly been said that ?the devil has two master tricks.? One is to get
us discouraged: then, for some time at least, we can be of no service to
others, and so are defeated. The other is to make us doubt, thus breaking
the faith link by which we are bound to God. Look out! Do not be tricked
either way!

Therefore, laugh and smile all the while! Laugh your way to health,
happiness, harmony, prosperity and peace!

?Which is the most important of the five senses?? a saint was asked.

?None of them,? the saint replied, ?But the sixth one, the sense of humour.?

The Brand New Day

At dawn, through my opened window,
I gazed upon a breathless,
And heart-stopping sight.

On the horizon in front of me,
Appeared an aurora of mystical lights,
Reflecting deep into the cavities and,
Ridges of the surrounding mountains.

Before me shown the early light,
Penetrating the morning mist,
As it caused perpetual golden rays
To illuminate through the highest
Mountain peaks,
Awakening the earth below.

As I peered closely,
Brilliant colors of light
Stretched upward,
Like fingers on a hand
Into the yet, dawning sky.

Oh, as I gazed at this precious sight,
Time itself seemed to be waiting,
And wanting to grasp hold of
The first beams, that would burst forth
From the East and to witness,
The suns smile beckoning
"The Brand New Day. "

The Thread of Life

Humankind has not woven the web of life.

We are but one thread with in it.

What ever we do to this web,
we do to ourselves

All things are bound together

All things connect

Don't ever stop dreaming your dreams;
they're a very essential part of you.

Do whatever you can to make them a reality
by the course you take, the plans you make,
and all the things you do.

Don't dwell on past mistakes;
leave yesterday behind you --- along with
any of its problems, worries, and doubts.

Do realize you can't change the past,
but just ahead is the future ---
and you can do something about that.

Don't try to accomplish everything at once;
life can be difficult enough ---
without adding frustration to the list.

Do travel one step at a time,
and reach for one goal at a time.

That's the way to find out what real accomplishment is.

Don't be afraid to do the impossible,
even if others don't think you'll succeed.

Do remember that history is filled with incredible accomplishments of
those who were foolish enough ..... to believe.

Don't forget that there are so many things that are wonderful,
rare, and unique about you.

And do remember that if you can search within
and find a smile ...
that smile will always be a reflection of the way
people feel ~ About You!!

Go outside tonight

Go look at the stars.......

See how wonderful God's creation is. So are you.

Never Quit!

Players win, players lose, players prepare, players practise, players get
hurt but players get up. No matter what the outcome is, players play.

After years of hard work, Thomas Carlyl finished the manuscript of his book
The French Revolution and gave it to a friend to read. The friend?s
housekeeper mistook the manuscript for trash and threw into the fire. When
she got the news, Carlyl?s wife couldn?t hold back her tears. His friend
stood trembling, and Carlyl himself was speechless. Finally, with a display
of remarkable courage and restraint he said, ?Accidents like these happen.?

Although, outwardly Carlyl appeared courageous, he was devastated. He was
unsure if he could continue with the project. He couldn?t sleep all night.
The next morning he resolved to start working on his book again. No matter
what, he just could not give up. Two years later, he had recreated and
finished his great work, The French Revolution, which remains to this day a
living testimony to his indomitable spirit.

Follow Your Dream

Trouble arrives in measures,
and we stack it up real high,
until we're convinced,
we have no reason to try.
If you feel defeated,
you're absolutely wrong,
for if you follow your dream,
you could never lose for long.
Ignore the minor set-backs
that pile up and trouble you,
or you will build a mountain,
out of the stones hurled at you.
The future holds great promise,
your destiny unknown,
but God is always helping,
and you're never alone.
Soar bravely toward your goal.
Let nothing darken the way.
You can change your tomorrow,
if you seek your dream today.

What's love?
When you are together with that special someone, you pretend to ignore that
person. But when that special someone is not around, you might look around
to find them.
At that moment, you are in love.

Although there is someone else who always makes you laugh,
your eyes and attention might go only to that special someone.
Then, you are in love.

Although that special someone was supposed to have called you long back, to
let you know of their safe arrival,
your phone is quiet.
You are desperately waiting for the call!
At that moment, you are in love.

If you are much more excited for one short e-mail from
that special someone than other many long e-mails,
you are in love.

When you find yourself as one who cannot erase all the
messages in your answering machine because of one message
from that special someone, you are in love.

When you get a couple of free movie tickets, you would
not hesitate to think of that special someone.
Then, you are in love.

You keep telling yourself, "that special someone is just a friend", but you
realize that you can not avoid that person's special attraction. At that
moment, you are in love.

While you are reading this page, if someone
appears in your mind,
then u are in love with that person.

Everyone should have this list.

1. If you feel far away from God, guess who moved?

2. Fear knocked. Faith answered. No one was there.

3. What you are is God's gift to you. What you become is your gift to God.

4. I am God's melody of life and He sings His song through me.

5. We can never really go where God is not, and where He is, all is well.

6. No matter what is happening in your life, know that God is waiting
for you with open arms.
7. God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

8. Do your best and then sleep in peace. God is awake.

9. God has a purpose and plan for me that no one else can fulfill.

10. The will of God will never take you to where the grace of God will
not protect you.

11. We are responsible for the effort, not the outcome.

12. We set the sail; God makes the wind.

13. Begin to weave and God will give you the thread.

14. Sometimes when God says "no", it's because He has something
better in store for you.

15. The task ahead of us is never as great as the power behind us.

16. Prayer: don't bother to give God instructions, just report for
duty.

17. It's my business to do God's business and it's His business to
take care of my business.

18. Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm.

19. How come you're always running around looking for God? He's
not lost.

20. God put me on earth to accomplish a number of things; right
now I'm so far behind I will live forever.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having
fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend
I'd like to bring home with me."

"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was
hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an
arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with
us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere
to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking.
Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have
our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with
our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy.
He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more
from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San
Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they
were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents
flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the
body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also
discovered
something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love
those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people
who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay
away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.
Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves
us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family,
regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer
that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are,
and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from
us!!! There's a miracle called Friendship That dwells in the heart You
don't know how it happens Or when it gets started But you know the special
lift It always brings And you realize that Friendship Is God's most precious
gift! Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and
encourage
you to succeed They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they
always want to open their hearts to us

"Wishing you and your family happy and prosperous Deepawali.”

THE TOUCH OF A FRIEND

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind
word, a listening ear... all of which have the potential to turn a life
around."
-Leo Buscaglia

An angel was sent down from heaven one day
to visit a child who had nothing to say;

Now this young child was poor, great wealth she did lack,
but she always was happy in spite of the fact.

Until one day it happened — her best friend went away
and it left her heartbroken with nothing to say.

Now the task of the angel was a great one indeed,
to give hope to a heart that was so much in need.

And though great riches and power were at the angel's command,
he sent a lost kitten and the healing began.

The girl cheered the kitten as it tracked down a snail,
and she started to giggle when he chased his own tail.

Then without any warning the girl whose heart broke
found some reason for saying these words that she spoke —

"I love you little kitten ... I hope you will stay!
We will always be friends and together we’ll play."

Now the little girl was happy though she still remained poor,
for she had a new friend someone to care for.

You see riches and power are fine things indeed
but for a broken heart that is not what you need.

The angel was wise for he knew in the end
how to mend a broken heart with the touch of a friend.

The World So Bright

The heart for which,
the beats till now,
The thing for which.
I stay down.

With lots of flowers,
in the garden.
And with lots of love,
the natural beauty is awakened.

The stars in the sky,
That shines so bright.
Is the only place called,
The world so bright.

So let us do something,
To make our world bright and happy.
For everyone who are present here today.

The Journey

From where I started to where I am today
The journey has been long & tiring
from nothing to some thing I am today
It’s not been an easy journey.

Tried with luck; Tried with hard work
Tried with destiny too
But nothing worked for me.
It’s not been an easy journey.

Found love but lost love too
Found friends but lost them too
Found money, even lost that one too
But the journey continued

Today I stand facing the world
It’s beckoning me to start all over again
While I miss my love
With whom I could start the journey again

I called up my love to join me again
In the journey of life that never concludes
Loser!! She called me
The lesson of journey never concludes.

I want to move on without my love
Even without my friends & money
As life moves on; I move on with it
To a journey that never concludes

Walking alone on this path
With guts and determination
I want to continue the journey again
A journey where people would remember me
As the man who won million hearts

The Therapy of Cheerfulness

Laugh Your Way To Health!

The story is told of a man who, When a child of two, lost his eyesight. For
almost thirty years, he lived in utter darkness. He was denied the joy of
beholding the beauties of nature ? the bubbling brooks, the swaying of
trees, the richness of many-hued flowers, the splendor of the morning sun
and the serenity of the sunset. At the age of 32, he had a cornea
transplant, which gave sight to his unseeing eyes. Suddenly, he found
himself in a new world of beauty and radiance.

?What are your immediate reactions, now that you are able to see?? He was
asked.

?So long as I dwelt in darkness, I always imagined that the faces of most
men around me were bright, cheerful. Now that I am able to look around, I am
shocked to find that most faces are sad and glum. Scarcely do my eyes behold
a cheerful, smiling countenance. Children, I find, are happy and bubbling
with joy. But when they grow up, their smiles disappear, their joy
evaporates.?

Today, many doctors are of the view that if a man is happy and
light-hearted, cheerful and contented, positive and uncomplaining, disease
will not draw close to him and, even if it does, it will not stay with him
for long.

?Laughter,? says Dr. Wilde, ?provides a rhythmic movement of the abdominal
muscles, gently massages the intestinal organs, improves digestion and blood
circulation.?

At the Harvard and Yale Universities of America and at the UCLA?s
Neuropsychiatric Institute at West Los Angeles and at several other research
institutions, neurobiologists and medical researchers have confirmed that
smiling, laughing and cheerful expressions set in motion happy waves in the
mind stuff and generate neuropeptides which revitalize the immunity system
to prevent and fight disease. People who are free from jealousy, envy,
greed, are more healthy than people who lead cloistered, unhappy lives.

New clinches and prescriptions given by modern physicians are being
displayed in hospitals and clinics. ?Laugh your way to health?; ?Laughter
may be hazardous to your illness?; ?Cheerfulness is the new Wonder Drug? are
some of them.

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind;

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet;

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them;

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true;

To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the
best;

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your
own;

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements
of the future;

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature
you meet a smile;

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to
criticize others;

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear; and too
happy to permit the presence of trouble;

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in
loud words, but in great deeds;

To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are
true to the best that is in you.

The Pretty Lady

Once upon a time a big monk and a little monk were travelling together. They
came to the bank of a river and found the bridge was damaged. They had to
wade across the river. There was a pretty lady who was stuck at the damaged
bridge and couldn't cross the river. The big monk offered to carry the
pretty lady across the river on his back. The lady accepted. The little monk
was shocked by the move of the big monk. "How can big disciple brother carry
a lady when we are supposed to avoid all intimacy with females?" thought the
little monk. But he kept quiet.

The big monk carried the lady across the river and the small monk followed
unhappily. When they crossed the river, the big monk let the lady down and
they parted ways with her. All along the way for several miles, the little
monk was very unhappy with the act of the big monk. He was making up all
kinds of accusations about the big monk in his head. This got him madder and
madder. But he still kept quiet. And the big monk had no inclination to
explain his situation.

Finally, at a rest point many hours later, the little monk could not stand
it any further, he burst out angrily at the big monk. "How can you claim
yourself a devout monk, when you seize the first opportunity to touch a
female, especially when she is very pretty? All your teachings to me make
you a big hypocrite."

The big monk looked surprised and said, "I had put down the pretty lady at
the river bank many hours ago, how come you are still carrying her along?"

[This very old Chinese zen story reflects the thinking of many people today.
We encounter many unpleasant things in our life, they irritate us and they
make us angry. Sometimes, they cause us a lot of hurt, sometimes they cause
us to be bitter or jealous. But like the little monk, we are not willing to
let them go away. We keep on carrying the baggage of the "pretty lady" with
us. We let them keep on coming back to hurt us, make us angry, make us
bitter and cause us a lot of agony. Why? Simply because we are not willing
to put down or let go of the baggage of the "pretty lady". We should let go
of the pretty lady immediately after crossing the river, immediately after
the unpleasant event is over. This will immediately remove all our agonies.
There is no need to be further hurt by the unpleasant event after it is
over. It is just that simple.]
