IF YOU HAVE A DREAM

Don't wait for some distant day to come;
it may be too late before you have even begun.
Not everyone will agree with all you decide.

Be true to yourself first and foremost,
the only important thing in life is what you do
with the time you spend here on earth.

Don't cloud today with things that can't be undone.
You have no more control over yesterday or tomorrow,
than you do the raging of your passions.

Do not quite these dreams nor quench your desires.
For if you do, your journey is ended.
You have only today to begun a new and follow your dreams.
For in the end all we have are our memories.

When the twilight comes to us, let there be,
no excuses, no explanations, no regrets.

To leave the old with a burst of song,
To recall the right and forgive the wrong

What Actually Love Is

Why do we close our eyes when we sleep? When we cry?
When we imagine? When we kiss?
This is because the most beautiful things in
the world are unseen.

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird
and when we find someone whose weirdness
is compatible with ours,
we join up with them and fall in
mutual weirdness and call it love.

There are things that we never want to let go of,
people we never want to leave behind,
but keep in mind that letting go isn't the end of the world,
it's the beginning of a new life.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt,
those who have searched and those who have tried.
For only they can appreciate the importance of the people
who have touched their lives.

A great love? It's when you shed tears and still
you care for him,
it's when he ignores you and still you long for him.
It's when he begins to love another and yet you still smile
and say I'm happy for you.

If love fails, set yourself free,
let your heart spread its wings and fly again.
Remember you may find love and lose it, but when love dies,
you never have to die with it.

The strongest people are not those who always win
but those who stand back up when they fall.

Somehow along the course of life,
you learn about yourself and realize
there should never be regrets,
only a lifelong appreciation of the choices you've made.

A true friend understands when you say, I forgot,
waits forever when you say, just a minute,
stays when you say leave me alone,
opens the door even before you knock and says can I come in?

Loving is not how you forget but how you forgive,
not how you listen but how you understand,
not what you see but how you feel,
and not how you let go but how you hold on.

It's more dangerous to weep inwardly rather than outwardly.
Outward tears can be wiped away while secret tears scar forever.

In love, very rarely do we win
but when love is true, even if you lose,
you still win just for having the tingle of loving someone
more than you love yourself.

There comes a time when we have to stop loving someone
not because that person has stopped loving us
but because we have found out
that they'd be happier if we let go.

It's best to wait for the one you want than settle for one that's
available.
Best to wait for the one you love than one who is around.
Best to wait for the right one
because life is too short to waste on just someone.

Sometimes the one you love turns out to be the one who hurts you the
most,
and sometimes the friend who takes you into his arms
and cries when you cry
turns out to be the love you never knew you wanted.

If you really love someone never let go,
don't believe that letting go means that you love best,
instead fight for your love,
that's what true love is.

Laugh to your heart's content; you cannot go
through life without it.

Optimism, Hope and Motivation

1. When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, he tried over 2000
experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it
felt
to fail so many times. He said, "I never failed once. I invented the
light
bulb. It just happened to be a 2000-step process."

2. Wilma Rudolph was the 20th of 22 children. She was born prematurely
and
her survival was doubtful. When she was 4 years old, she contracted
double
pneumonia and scarlet fever, which left her with a paralyzed left leg.
At
age 9, she removed the metal leg brace she had been dependent on and
began
to walk without it. By 13 she had developed a rhythmic walk, which
doctors
said was a miracle. That same year she decided to become a runner. She
entered a race and came in last. For the next few years every race she
entered, she came in last. Everyone told her to quit, but she kept on
running. One day she actua! lly won race. And then another. From then on
she
won every race she entered. Eventually this little girl, who was told
she
would never walk again, went on to win three Olympic gold medals.

3. In 1962, four nervous young musicians played their first record
audition
for the executives of the Decca recording Company. The executives were
not
impressed. While turning down this group of musicians, one executive
said,
"We don't like their round. Groups of guitars are on the way out." The
group
was called The Beatles.

4. In 1944, Emmeline Snively, director of the Blue Book Modeling Agency,
told modeling hopeful Norma Jean Baker, "You'd better learn secretarial
work
or else get married." She went on and became Marilyn Monroe.

5. In 1954, Jimmy Denny, manager of the Grand Ole Opry, fired a singer
after
one performance. He told him, "You ain't goin' nowhere....son. You ought
to
go back to drivin' a truck." He went on to become the most popular
singer in
America named Elvis Presley.

6. When Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876, it did not
ring off the hook with calls from potential backers. After making a
demonstration call, President Rutherford Hayes said, "That's an amazing
Invention, but who would ever want to use one of them?"

7. In the 1940s, another young inventor named Chester Carlson took his
idea
to 20 corporations, including some of the biggest in the country. They
all
turned him down. In 1947 - after seven long years of rejections! He
finally
got a tiny company in Rochester, New York, the Haloid Company, to
purchase
the rights to his invention an electrostatic paper-copying process.
Haloid
became Xerox Corporation we know today.

The Moral of the above Stories: Character cannot be developed in ease
and
quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be
strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved.
You
gain strength, experience and confidence by every experience where you
really stop to look fear in the face.... You must do the thing you
cannot
do. And remember, the finest steel gets sent through the hottest
furnace.
And even the GOLD is tested against fire.

A winner is not one who never fails, but one who NEVER QUITS!

We have no right to ask when sorrow comes, "Why did this happen to me?"
unless we ask the same question for every moment of happiness that comes
our
way.

Life's Good! Live it!

WHAT'S IN YOUR SPONGE?

There are 5 sponges laying on your kitchen counter top. Each member of
your
family has been cleaning up different areas of your home, but all the
sponges look the same. You are curious as to what was cleaned in your
home,
but you can't tell by looking...they all look the same....so what do you
do?

You squeeze each sponge to see what comes out. As you squeeze the first
sponge, you see that cola comes out, and so you decide that someone
cleaned
the kitchen with that one. Upon squeezing the second sponge, you find
tub
and tile cleaner - that one was used to clean the bathroom.

Next, in the third sponge, you find motor oil -- hubby was cleaning the
garage!

In the fourth sponge, baby powder puffs out when it is squeezed -- yep,
the
baby's nursery was done with that one!

And finally, in the last one, is floor wax -- that was the one you used
on
the hall floor!

As you lay the last one down, you look again at their similarity - and
they
all look the same until they're squeezed.

Humans are the same way. As life squeezes us, different things come out
-
anger from one, a need for revenge from another, tears from one, remorse
from yet another - also greed, untruth, lust - and finally, from one
saint,
pours forth the love of God.

Just like the sponge, we can only squeeze out what is put in - stay in
the
Word daily, and be in continuous prayer, so that when life puts the
squeeze
on you (and it WILL), God, and God ALONE will shine forth from you!

Have a blessed, squeaky clean day!

GOOD THOUGHTS

Before you think of saying an unkind word
Think of someone who can't speak

Before you complain about the taste of your food
Think of someone who has nothing to eat

Before you complain about your husband or wife
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion

Today before you complain about life
Think of someone who went too early to heaven

Before you complain about your children
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren

Before you argue about your dirty house; someone didn't clean or sweep
Think of the people who are living in the streets

Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet

And when you are tired and complain about your job
Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your
job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one
maker

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.

Life is a gift of GOD.
LIVE it....
ENJOY it......
CELEBRATE it.........
AND FULFILL it...............

Proverbs... Platitudes... "The Moral of the Story"...

All designed to teach us a lesson, but did you ever
notice that they're sometimes quite conflicting?

Things like:

Actions speak louder than words.
- but -
The pen is mightier than the sword.

Look before you leap.
- but -
He who hesitates is lost.

Many hands make light work.
- but -
Too many cooks spoil the broth.

A silent man is a wise one.
- but -
A man without words is a man without thoughts.

Clothes make the man.
- but -
Don't judge a book by its cover.

It's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.
- but -
The nail that sticks out gets hammered.

Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.
- but -
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
- but -
Better safe than sorry.

Enjoy Life

A group of working adults got together to visit their University
lecturer.
The lecturer was happy to see them. Conversation soon turned into
complaints
about stress in work and life.

The Lecturer just smiled and went to the kitchen to get an assortment of
cups - some porcelain, some in plastic, some in glass, some plain
looking
and some looked rather expensive and exquisite.

The Lecturer offered his former students the cups to get drinks for
themselves. When all the students had a cup in hand with water, the
Lecturer
spoke: If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken
up,
leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

While it is normal that you only want the best for yourselves, that is
the
source of your problems and stress. What all you wanted was water, not
the
cup, but we unconsciously went for the better cups. Just like in life,
if
Life is Water, then the jobs, money and position in society are the
cups.
They are just tools to hold/maintain Life, but the quality of Life
doesn't
change.

If we only concentrate on the cup, we won't have time to enjoy/taste the
water in it.

You Don't Have To Tell

"You don't have to tell how you live each day,
You don't have to say if you work or you play,
Attired, true barometer serves in the place,
However you life, it will show in your face.

The false, the deceit that you bear in your heart
Will not stay inside where it first got a start;
For sinew and blood are a thin veil of lace-
What you wear in your heart, you wear in your face.

If your life is unselfish, if for others you live,
For not what you get, but how much you can give;
If you live close to God in his infinite grace-
You don't have to tell it, it shows in your face."

You Are

You are strong... when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave... when you overcome your fear and help others to do the
same.

You are happy... when you see a flower and are thankful for the
blessing.

You are loving... when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of
others.

You are wise... when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true... when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive... when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's
mistake.

You are growing... when you know what you are but not what you will
become.

You are free... when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to
control others.

You are honorable... when you find your honor is to honor others.

You are generous... when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble... when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful... when you see me just as I am and treat me just as
you
are.

You are merciful... when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in
yourself.

You are beautiful... when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

You are rich... when you never need more than what you have.

You are you... when you are at peace with who you are not

Some Days Must Be Dark
- by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the mouldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the mouldering Past
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast,
And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all:
Into each life some rain must fall;
Some days must be dark and dreary."

The Mansion Of Heaven

This world, however beautiful, was never meant to be
The place that we would call our home for all eternity.
And though we would not choose to leave, a loving God knows best,
And in His time He lifts us to a place of peace and rest.

For He has built a mansion where His children will abide,
Free from pain and sorrow, forever at His side.
He said He'd never leave us to face our trials alone,
And though sometimes we fail Him, He never fails His own.

And even when our choices are less than He would ask,
He knows when human courage is unequal to the task.
We cannot judge what happens, though tears and questions start--
We only see what's visible--God sees into the heart....

And though there may be many things that we cannot explain,
We can be sure it breaks His heart to see His children's pain.
In loving arms He bears us to a quiet place apart
Where he mends the wounded spirit and heals the broken heart.

And though these ones we love so much have left our present sight
And passed into a better world of majesty and light,
Someday we'll be together in our Father's home above,
Where we'll thank Him for His mercy and praise Him for His love.

YOU CAN BE WHATEVER YOU WANT TO BE
by Donna
Levine

There is inside you
all of the potential to be whatever
you want to be
all of the energy to do whatever
you want to do.

Imagine yourself as you would like to be,
doing what you want to do,
and each day, take one step
towards your dream.

And though at times it may seem too
difficult to continue,
hold on to your dream.

One morning you will awake to find
that you are the person
you dreamed of
doing what you wanted to do
simply because you had the courage
to believe in your potential
and to hold on to your dream.

Only the Blind Can See
- By John A. Van Hees

The air we breathe cannot be seen
And yet it fills our breasts
The stars so high we cannot touch
But we admire them never the less

The depth of the world is oh so shallow
For we judge only what is in sight
If we close our eyes and open our minds
It will be revealed that night is day and day is night

Nothing is what it seems
If you trust in only with your eyes
Open your heart and release the spirit
Leave behind the tears and cries

True joy can only found
If you take the time to look deep within
The outer appearance is only a shell
While the truth is under the skin

Distance in fact is many miles
It is far if that is what you see
But if you look with your heart and not the eyes
I'm as close to you as you are to me

One Day I Decided to Quit

One day I decided to quit...I quit my job, my relationship, my
Spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God. "God", I said. "Can
you
give me one good reason not to quit?" His answer surprised me...

"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of
them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from
the
earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the
bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the
Fern
grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo
seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo." He said.

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would
not
quit. In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I
would
not quit." He said.

"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared
to
the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months
later
the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years
growing
roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I
would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle." He
said
to me.

"Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling,
you
have actually been growing roots?"

"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you."

"Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different
purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful."

"Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high"

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I questioned

"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can help
you
see that God will never give up on you.

He will never give up on you!

Holistic Living

Walking through a forest, a man chanced to meet 4 beautiful women.
Greeting
them, he introduced himself.

The tall and slim women said : "My name is Buddhi (intellect), I live in
man's head".

The women with Kohlined eyes said :"I am Lajja, I live in the eyes of
man as
modesty and present
myself as decorum in behavior".

The third lady had a well-toned body. "I am Himmat", she said. "I live
in
man's heart. I give him the courage to live". The traveler bowed low.

The fourth lady had rosy cheeks and radiated freshness. "My name in
Tandurusti (health). I live in man's stomach", she said.

As the traveler went ahead, his thoughts went back to 4 women he had
met. At
the end of the forest, he met 4 young men

"I am Krodh (anger)", said the first man who was handsome but for his
brows,
which were always knitted. "Where do you live", the traveler asked. "I
live
in man's head", said Krodh. The traveler said this was not possible. He
had
just met Buddhi and she lived in the head. Krodh said "Till I enter
Buddhi
remains. Once I enter, she runs away". Krodh had strong muscles and a
forceful personality.

The second man was Laalach (greed). "I live in people's eyes", he said.
Once
again the traveler interjected to say "Only Lajja lives there". "Just
place
a bag of gold coins and see how Lajja runs away from people's eyes. Or
offer
a position of power. Desire does not believe in modesty, shame or
decorum.
It is an expression of greed".

Who would the third man be ? "I am Bhay (fear)", the sickly-looking man
was
saying. "I live in people's hearts". "Is it not the residence of Himmat
?"
the traveler asked. "When people do not obey their conscience, they are
always afraid. They do wrong and so are full of fear of being caught.
That
is why Himmat wanders homeless while I reside comfortably in people's
hearts. Sometimes when I dominate, people say they have a heart attack
and
go to the doctor. They give me even more space when and if they come
back".

"My name is Rog (disease)",said the fourth man. He looked healthy. "I
live
in people's stomachs. They are forever downing intoxicants that goes
into
their stomach, feeding me. I know you will wonder where Tandurusti went.
She
does not stand a chance. Everybody wants her but it is me they feed when
they drink, smoke and partake other such substances".

A healthy and happy life seems to be within reach. But so are problems.
If
we invite problems, is it
fair to blame it all on fate ? Can we make small resolves that will make
some space for Buddhi, Lajja, Himmat and Tandurusti within us ? Small
resolves like : "I will control my anger today. I will limit my
possessions.
I will try to remove fear. I will not give in to temptations that lead
me to
ill health". Small vows or anuvrats are firm stepping stones to a
happier
and healthier life.

All it takes to be able to live a holistic life to resist temptation,
taking
one step at a time. Health, happiness and peace will be within reach.

You are strong... when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave... when you overcome your fear and help others to do the

You are happy... when you see a flower and are thankful for the

You are loving... when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of
others.

You are wise... when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true... when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive... when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's

You are growing... when you know what you are but not what you will

You are free... when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to
control others.

You are honorable... when you find your honor is to honor others.

You are generous... when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble... when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful... when you see me just as I am and treat me just as

You are merciful... when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in

You are you... when you are at peace with who you are not.

Thought And Character

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he," not only embraces the whole
of a
man's being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition
and
circumstance of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his
character
being the complete sum of all his thoughts.

As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every
act
of man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have
appeared
without them. This applies equally to those acts called "spontaneous"
and
"unpremeditated" as to those which are deliberately executed.

Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruit; thus
does a man garner in the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own husbandry.

Thought in the mind hath made us.
What we are by thought was wrought and built.
If a man's mind hath evil thought,
pain comes on him as comes the wheel the ox behind.
If one endure in purity of thought,
Joy follows him as his own shadow - sure.

Man is a growth by law, and not a creation by artifice, and cause and
effect
are as absolute and undeviating in the hidden realm of thought as in the
world of visible and material things. A noble and God-like character is
not
a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continued
effort in
right thinking, the effect of long-cherished association with God-like
thoughts. An ignoble and bestial character, by the same process, is the
result of the continued harboring of groveling thoughts.

Man is made or unmade by himself. In the armory of thought he forges the
weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with
which
he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace.
By
the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the
divine
perfection. By the abuse and wrong application of thought he descends
below
the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of
character, and man is their maker and master.

Of all the beautiful truths pertaining to the soul which have been
restored
and brought to light in this age, none is more gladdening or fruitful of
divine promise and confidence than this-- that man is the master of
thought,
the molder of character, and the maker and shaper of condition,
environment,
and destiny.

As a being of power, intelligence, and love, and the lord of his own
thoughts, man holds the key to every situation, and contains within
himself
that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself
what
he wills.

Man is always the master, even in his weakest and most abandoned state.
But
in his weakness and degradation he is foolish master who misgoverns his
"household." When he begins to reflect upon his condition and search
diligently for the law upon which his being is established, he then
becomes
the wise master, directing his energies with intelligence and fashioning
his
thoughts to fruitful issues. Such is the conscious master, and man can
only
thus become by discovering within himself the laws of thought. This
discovery is totally a matter of application, self-analysis and
experience.

Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained, and
man
can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into
the
mine of his soul. That he is the maker of his character, the molder of
his
life, and the builder of his destiny, he may unerringly prove, if he
will
watch, control, and alter his thoughts, tracing their effects upon
himself,
upon others and upon his life and circumstances, linking cause and
effect by
patient practice and investigation. And utilizing his every experience,
even
the most trivial, everyday occurrence, as a means of obtaining that
knowledge of himself which is understanding, wisdom, power. In this
direction, as in no other, is the law absolute that "He that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." For only by
patience,
practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the door of the
temple
of knowledge.
