Enthusiasm
~~~~~~~~~~
-By Ineke Van Lint
Sometimes a WINNER might not have all the required competencies and on
some other occasions, every competent person may not be a WINNER.
It is the enthusiasm which can make a person, a WINNER. Nothing to beat
if a competent person is enthusiastic and comes out a WINNER. Enthusiasm
is essential prescription for achieving a WIN.
Enthusiasm is one of the most divine feelings we can experience.
Enthusiasm is energy vibrating at the highest level, energy vibrating in
tune with creation. When we are feeling enthusiasm, we are on the cruise
ship of divinity. This divine feeling of excitement is your reward for
heading towards your true soul purpose. You will never feel enthusiasm
when you are doing the "wrong" thing with the "wrong" people at the
"wrong" time. When you are off track, you will feel emptiness, fatigue,
depression, frustration and anger. Enthusiasm is what lets you know that
you are right on track with your life.
The word < Enthusiasm > has its roots in the Greek language; it
literally means < the God within >. The etymology of the word reminds us
of the divine source of the feeling called enthusiasm. An enthusiastic
person is someone who is positively possessed, in an extraordinary
fashion, by the spirit of God.
Enthusiasm equals passion.
It is the thrill and tremble you feel when you take the risk of being
yourself!
Enthusiasm is a wave emanating from the soul, lifting you up and taking
you along.
It is the very Life Energy that freely flows through you when you dare
to be yourself!
Enthusiasm can be seen in the twinkling of your eyes, the determination
in your step, the strength in your hands, the irresistible energetic
pull of what you have decided to create.
When you feel enthusiastic, nothing can stop you! You must and will go
on, no matter what others are pulling out of their hat to try to stop
you. When you are working towards your goal with enthusiasm, nothing can
hold you back. You jump out of bed early in the morning because your
goal, your dream, is calling you. The entire day you are working for the
achievement of your goal, losing track of time without feeling hungry.
You live in another dimension, carried along and aloft by a divine
energy. The material details of life seem small and insignificant and
they can no longer distract you, for you have more important things to
do. You have a veritable Life Goal, something that entails your whole
being and your whole doing.
When you are one with your Life Goal, you feel a divine energy carrying
you; it is called enthusiasm. You are still in this world, but you are
no longer of this world. You are able to accomplish large amounts of
work that others may consider humanly impossible. It is this very divine
energy flowing through you that enables you to accomplish the
impossible.
Enthusiasm is the elevating force that lifts your dreams up to the
stars.
The world evolves by grace of the powerful thrust of highly motivated,
enthusiastic people.
Enthusiasm is the wondrous engine of life!
Enthusiasm is directly linked to passion. You have to find your passion
in order to feel enthusiasm. You won't be able to generate enthusiasm by
endlessly repeating a lousy job you hate. You have to stop doing the
things you hate, the things you don't like, the things that drag your
energy vibration down. You have to start doing what you like doing, what
you have always liked doing since you were a kid, things that boost your
energy, things you can lose yourself in while doing them, things that
totally absorb you and make you lose track of time, make you forget
about the details of daily routine.
This passion is your birthright - go look for it. I can help you find
your passion if you want to find and claim it. Visit my website and find
out how to discover your passion in life!
In closing I present to you a few quotes from celebrities:
A man dies for the first time, the day he loses his enthusiasm. -
Honnore de Balzac
All great moments in world history are due to the triumph of enthusiasm.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
A person incapable of enthusiasm is a mediocre person. - Honroe de
Balzac
Enthusiasm surfaces when you strive with dedication towards worthy
goals. And it is enthusiasm that frees the energy and the power. -
Woodrow Wilson
Enthusiasm carries the spirit towards sublime thoughts, surprising and
true. - De Piles
WORTH READING 26 April 2007
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
A young man learns what's most important in life from the guy next door.
It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls,
career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across
the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy
life, Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to
spend with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing
could stop him.
Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night. The
funeral is Wednesday." Memories flashed through his mind like an old
newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.
"Jack, did you hear me?"
"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of
him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said.
"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were
doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side of
the fence' as he put it," Mom told him.
"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said.
"You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make
sure you had a man's influence in your life," she said
"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this
business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me
things he thought were important...Mom, I'll be there for the funeral,"
Jack said.
As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his
hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no
children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.
The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to
see the old house next door one more time.
Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing
over into another dimension, a leap through space and time The house was
exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every
piece of furniture....Jack stopped suddenly.
"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked.
"The box is gone," he said
"What box?" Mom asked.
"There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I
must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell
me was 'the thing I value most,'" Jack said.
It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered
it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had
taken it.
"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better
get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom."
It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died Returning home from
work one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. "Signature required
on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within
the next three days," the note read.
Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and
looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was
difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. "Mr.
Harold Belser" it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open
the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands
shook as he read the note inside.
"Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack
Bennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped
to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack
carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold
pocket watch.
Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched
the cover. Inside he found these words engraved:
"Jack, Thanks for your time! -Harold Belser."
"The thing he valued most was...my time"
Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and
cleared his appointments for the next two days. "Why?" Janet, his
assistant asked.
"I need some time to spend with my son," he said.
"Oh, by the way, Janet, thanks for your time!"
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the
moments that take our breath away,"
Think about this. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.
1. At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for
you.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't
like you.
4. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
5. You mean the world to someone.
6. If not for you, someone may not be living.
7. You are special and unique.
8. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you
probably won't get it, but if you trust God to do what's best, and wait
on His time, sooner or later, you will get it or something better.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good can still come
from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look:
you most likely turned your back on the world.
11. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
12. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude
remarks.
13 . Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much
better when they know and you'll both be happy .
14. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they
are great.
15. Thanks for your time
Be The Person - by Ralph Marston
If you are chasing something, the very fact that you must chase it means
that it is moving away from you. Rather than chasing something directly,
consider attracting it into your life.
Be the person who would have what you wish to have. Be the person who
can live the life you wish to live.
When you chase after anything, whether it is a relationship, money, a
job or anything else, it can be quite frustrating. Because you are
focusing on something external to yourself, over which you have very
little control.
Instead, focus on what you can control, on what you can build and grow
and improve in yourself. That is the quickest and most reliable way to
bring results.
Whatever it is that you desire, give it a warm and welcoming place to
exist within you. The good things in life will flow into places where
they are appreciated and put to good use.
Imagine your most treasured dream in every detail, and then set about to
be the person who can truly experience it. Your dream will fill the home
that you build for it.
Attitude Determines Attitude
I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock
strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am
important.
My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful
that the grass is getting watered for free.
Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that
my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away
from waste.
Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.
Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was
growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.
Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns
have roses.
Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a
quest to discover new relationships.
Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy
because I have a job to do.
Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my
mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.
Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can
feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body and
soul.
Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the
sculptor who gets to do the shaping.
What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I
will have!
Napoleon And The Furrier
During Napoleon's invasion of Russia, his troops were battling in the
middle of yet another small town in that endless wintry land, when he
was accidentally separated from his men. A group of Russian Cossacks
spotted him and began chasing him through the twisting streets. He ran
for his life and ducked into a little furrier's shop on a side alley. As
he entered the shop, gasping for breath, he saw the furrier and cried
piteously, Save me, save me!
Where can I hide? The furrier said, Quick, under this big pile of furs
in the corner, and he covered Napoleon up with many furs. No sooner had
he finished than the Russian Cossacks burst in the door, shouting Where
is he We saw him come in. Despite the furrier's protests, they tore his
shop apart trying to find him. They poked into the pile of furs with
their swords but didn't find him. Soon, they gave up and left.
After some time, Napoleon crept out from under the furs, unharmed, just
as the emperor's personal guards came in the door. The furrier turned to
Napoleon and said timidly, Excuse me for asking this question of such a
great man, but what was it like to be under those furs, knowing that the
next moment would surely be your last
Napoleon drew himself up to his full height and said to the furrier
indignantly, How could you ask such a question of me, the Emperor
Napoleon! Guards, take this impudent man out, blindfold him and execute
him. I, myself, will personally give the command to fire!
The guards grabbed the poor furrier, dragged him outside, stood him up
against a wall and blindfolded him.
The furrier could see nothing, but he could hear the movements of the
guards as they slowly shuffled into a line and prepared their rifles,
and he could hear the soft ruffling sound of his clothing in the cold
wind. He could feel the wind tugging gently at his clothes and chilling
his cheeks, and the uncontrollable trembling in his legs.
Then he heard Napoleon clear his throat and call out slowly, Ready. . .
aim. . . In that moment, knowing that even these few sensations were
about to be taken from him forever, a feeling that he couldn't describe
welled up in him as tears poured down his cheeks.
After a long period of silence, the furrier heard footsteps approaching
him and the blindfold were stripped from his eyes. Still partially
blinded by the sudden sunlight, he saw his eyes looking deeply and
intently into his own - eyes that seemed to see into every dusty corner
of his being. Then he said softly, Now you know.
Look Around You
A very special teacher in high school many years ago had a husband who
the late afternoon sunlight came streaming in through the classroom
windows and the class was nearly over, she moved a few things aside on
the edge of her desk and sat down there.
With a gentle look of reflection on her face, she paused and said,
"Before class is over, I would like to share with all of you a thought
that is unrelated to class, but which I feel is very important. Each of
us is put here on earth to learn, share, love, appreciate and give of
ourselves... and none of us knows when this fantastic experience will
end. It can be taken away at any moment. Perhaps this is God's way of
telling us that we must make the most out of every single day."
Her eyes beginning to water, she went on, "So I would like you all to
make me a promise... from now on, on your way to school, or on your way
home, find something beautiful to notice. It doesn't have to be
something you see - it could be a scent - perhaps of freshly baked bread
wafting out of someone's house, or it could be the sound of the breeze
slightly rustling the leaves in the trees, or the way the morning light
catches one autumn leaf as it falls gently to the ground. Please, look
for these things, and cherish them.
For, although it may sound trite to some, these things are the "stuff"
of life. The little things we are put here on earth to enjoy. The things
we often take for granted. We must make it important to notice them, for
at any time ... it can all be taken away."
The class was completely quiet. We all picked up our books and filed out
of the room silently. That afternoon, I noticed more things on my way
home from school than I had that whole semester. Every once in a while,
I think of that teacher and remember what an impression she made on all
of us, and I try to appreciate all of those things that sometimes we all
overlook.
Take notice of something special you see on your lunch hour today. Go
barefoot. Or walk on the beach at sunset. Stop off on the way home
tonight to get a double dip ice cream cone. For as we get older, it is
not the things we did that we often regret, but the things we didn't do.
Things Are Not Always Black or White
In life, a lesson learned in your past that you will never forget
completely.
When I was in elementary school, I got into a major argument with a boy
in my class. I have forgotten what the argument was about, but I have
never forgotten the lesson learned that day.
I was convinced that I was right and he was wrong - and he was just as
convinced that I was wrong and he was right. The teacher decided to
teach us a very important lesson. She brought us up to the front of the
class and placed him on one side of her desk and me on the other.
In the middle of her desk was a large, round object. I could clearly see
that it was black. She asked the boy what color the object was. White,
he answered.
I couldn't believe he said the object was white, when it was obviously
black! Another argument started between my classmate and me, this time
about the color of the object.
The teacher told me to go stand where the boy was standing and told him
to come stand where I had been. We changed places, and now she asked me
what the color of the object was. I had to answer, White. It was an
object with two differently colored sides, and from his viewpoint it was
white. Only from my side was it black.
My teacher taught me a very important lesson learned that day You must
stand in the other person's shoes and look at the situation through
their eyes in order to truly understand their perspective
The Power Of Positive Thinking
The famous author of The Power of Positive Thinking once told this
story.
A man once telephoned Norman Vincent Peale. He was despondent and told
the reverend that he had nothing left to live for. Peale invited the man
over to his office. Everything is gone, hopeless, the man told him. I'm
living in deepest darkness. In fact, I've lost heart for living
altogether.
Norman Vincent Peale smiled sympathetically.
Let's take a look at your situation, he said calmly. On a sheet of paper
he drew a vertical line down the middle. He suggested that they list on
the left side the things the man had lost, and on the right, the things
he had left. You won't need that column on the right side, said the man
sadly. I have nothing left, period.
Peale asked, When did your wife leave you
What do you mean She hasn't left me. My wife loves me!
That's great! said Peale enthusiastically. Then that will be number one
in the right-hand column Wife hasn't left. Now, when were your children
jailed
That's silly. My children aren't in jail!
Good! That's number two in the right-hand column Children not in jail,
said Peale, jotting it down.
After a few more questions in the same vein, the man finally got the
point and smiled in spite of himself. Funny, how things change when you
think of them that way, he said.
