Life Goes On...

In every human life,
theer are some moments when one is sad and depressed
Frustrated from every zone of life,
And feel like leaving everything & going away
And Life Goes on ...

Some moments in which
one is wrapped with tensions
one wants to get out of them
and fly high in the sky
But cant run away, and life goes on ...

Some moments in which,
one who adores hurts sentiments,
one needs a support, a shoulder to dry on,
But doesnt find one , and life goes on ...

Some moments in which one gets tired of life
or so intensely hurt that one wants to die
one wishes to end up with
life at that very moment, and life goes on ...

And in every human life on day arrives
When there is a big halt to one's life.
And then the people cry
and show that they were concerned

Then the question arises:
Do they wait for one's death,
To care, To understand the one
If so, then wait till death and untill then
LIFE GOES ON ...

God's Child

God calls on certain people
To love and follow Him
And the baby, you hold in your arms,
Just might be one of them.

Though they seem too small and tiny
To carry on God's way,
They'll grow into a strong child, soon;
With each passing day.

Then, someday, they will tell the world
Of all God's wondrous things;
Of Jesus and His glory,
And all the love He brings.

They'll help us lift our hearts to God
And give our lives to him,
And show us love, to fill our hearts
That once were filled with sin.

And, when they die, they'll join God
In the heavens, high above.
Then, someone else, maybe their child,
Will take their place to teach about God's love.

Childhood Doesn't Wait

I was sitting on a bench
while in a nearby mall,
When I noticed a young mother
with two children who were small.

The youngest one was whining,
"Pick me up," I heard him beg
but the mother's face grew angry
as the child clung to her leg.

"Don't hang on to me," she shouted
as she pushed his hands away,
I wish I'd had the courage
to go up to her and say...

"The time will come too quickly
when those little arms that tug,
Won't ask for you to hold them
or won't freely give a hug.

"The day will sneak up subtly
just as it did with me,
When you can't recall the last time
that your child sat on your knee.

"Like those sacred, pre-dawn feedings
when we cherished time alone
Our babies grow and leave behind
those special times we've known.

"So when your child comes to you
with a book that you can share,
Or asks that you would tuck him in
and help him say his prayer...

"When he comes to sit and chat
or would like to take a walk,
Before you answer that you can't
`cause there's no time to talk.

"Remember what all parents learn
so many times too late,
That years go by too quickly
and that childhood doesn't wait.

"Take every opportunity,
if one should slip away
Reach hard to get it back again,
don't wait another day."

I watched that mother walk away
her children followed near,
I hope she'll pick them up
before her chances disappear...

Do You Still Have Hope?

If you can look at the sunset and smile,
then you still have hope...

If you can find beauty in the colors of a small flower,
then you still have hope...

If you can find pleasure in the movement of a butterfly,
then you still have hope...

If the smile of a child can still warm your heart,
then you still have hope...

If you can see the good in other people,
then you still have hope...

If the rain breaking on a roof top can still lull you to sleep,
then you still have hope...

If the sight of a rainbow still makes you
stop and stare in wonder,
then you still have hope...

If the soft fur of a favored pet still
feels pleasant under your fingertips,
then you still have hope...

If you meet new people with a trace of excitement and optimism,
then you still have hope...

If you give people the benefit of a doubt,
then you still have hope...

If you still offer your hand in friendship to others
that have touched your life, then you still have hope...

If receiving an unexpected card or letter still brings
a pleasant surprise, then you still have hope...

If the suffering of others still fills you with pain and frustration,
then you still have hope...

If you refuse to let a friendship die, or accept that it must end,
then you still have hope...

If you look forward to a time or place of quiet and reflection,
then you still have hope...

If you still buy the ornaments, put up the Christmas tree
or cook the turkey, then you still have hope...

If you still watch love stories or want the endings to be happy,
then you still have hope...

If you can look to the past and smile,
then you still have hope....

If, when faced with the bad, when told everything is futile, you can
still
look up and end the conversation with the phrase... "yeah....BUT.." Then
you
still have hope...

Hope is such a marvelous thing. It bends, it twists, it sometimes
hides, but rarely does it break... It sustains us when nothing else
can...
It gives us reason to continue and courage to move ahead, when we tell
ourselves we'd rather give in...

Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart cannot manage... Hope puts
our
feet on the path when our eyes cannot see it... Hope moves us to act
when
our souls are confused of the direction....

Hope is a wonderful thing, something to be cherished and nurtured, and
something that will refresh us in return... And it can be found in each
of
us, and it can bring light into the darkest of places...
Never lose hope...

I Am Here

I was sitting alone at home one day
My Spiritual life at an emergency low.
So many I love have gone from my life,
I felt I had no where my love to bestow.

I felt so lonely and deserted by all,
Even my Lord I was beginning to fear.
Then I felt my heart touched by His love,
And a wondrous thought, "My child I am here!"

"Your friends that are gone, left for a reason.
For that same reason you are still here.
They're trying to follow just when I lead,
And for you there is no reason to fear!"

"When you feel so lost and alone
Remember I'm in your heart to stay.
And no matter who goes and leaves you alone.
You can know - I won't go away!"

"Rest in My promise, child of mine.
Live for me and have never a fear.
When you're down in spirit just look above
Rest in My Peace - I am here!"

AIM HIGH, ONLY THE BEST

If you would rise above the throng
And seek the crown of fame,
You must do more than drift along
And merely play the game.

Whatever path your feet may tread
Whatever be your quest,
The only way to get ahead
IS STRIVING FOR THE BEST.

'Tis not enough to wish to do
A day's toil fairly well;
you would rise to glory you
Must hunger to excel.

The man who has the proper stuff
Goes into every test-
Not seeking to be "good enough",
But eager to be "Best."

Aim high! And though you fail today,
And may tomorrow fail,
Keep pounding steadily away-
Some day you'll hit the nail.

At no half-way mark ever pause
In snug content to rest
Who would win honor and applause
Must want to be the best.

The best must be your aim in life:
The best in sport or work;
Success in any form or strife
Falls never to the shirk

The crowns of leadership are few,
The followers move in throngs;
If you would be a leader,
You must shun the "drift-alongs."

What Is Your Destination?

A speed boat set out from one region of the country to another. The sea
was
turbulent, the storm raging. Those on board the boat were afraid but
only
the captain was calm.

One man wondered why, in the midst of all the turbulence, the captain
was
calm so he went ahead and asked him. "We are all troubled, but you are
calm,
why is this?"

The captain answered "My destination is the port we are going, not the
troubled sea".

That was what he was looking forward to. What are you looking at? Are
you
looking up to your final destination or at the storms of life?

Are you looking forward to your prize in heaven or looking at the
everyday
turbulence of life?

WORTH READING 19 Oct 2005

Anger usually occurs when you feel (a) that someone is making you
unhappy, and (b) what they're doing just isn't fair. In your angry
state, you're convinced that reasoning won't work, and the offender will
keep upsetting you until he or she is taught a lesson. The only thing
such people understand is punishment, you assume. Then they'll think
twice about making you unhappy again!

You use anger to protect yourself and it offers a simple solution to
your problem--destroy the troublemaker. If your spouse turns out to be
the troublemaker, you'll find yourself hurting the one you've promised
to cherish and protect. When you're angry you don't care about your
spouse's feelings and you are willing to scorch the culprit if it
prevents you from being hurt again.

Each of us has an arsenal of weapons we use when we're angry. If we
think someone deserves to be punished, we unlock the gate and select an
appropriate weapon.

Sometimes the weapons are verbal (ridicule and sarcasm), sometimes
they're devious plots to cause suffering, and sometimes they're
physical. But they all have one thing in common: the ability to hurt
people. Since our spouses are at such close range, we can use our
weapons to hurt them the most.

Remember, in marriage you can be your spouse's greatest source of
pleasure, but can also be your spouse's greatest source of pain,
particularly if your anger is directed toward him or her.

Dr. Willard F. Harley, Jr.

Follow Your Dreams

There were once 2 brothers who lived on the 80th floor of a tall
building.

On coming home one day, they realized to their dismay that the lifts
were
not working and that they have to climb the stairs home.

After struggling to the 20th level, panting and tired, they decided to
abandon their bags and come back for them the next day. They left their
bags
then and climbed on

When they have struggled to the 40th level by this time they had gone
sufficiently mad and irritated. The younger brother started to grumble
and
both of them began to quarrel. They continued to climb the flights of
steps,
quarreling all the way to the 60th floor. They then realized that they
have
only 20 levels more to climb and decided to stop quarreling and continue
climbing in peace. They silently climbed on and reached their home at
long
last.

Each stood calmly before the door and waited for the other to open the
door.
And they realized that the key was in their bags which was left on the
20th
floor.........

This story is a reflection on our life and times.

All of us climb the tall building called life....some till all the 80
floors
and some less.

Many of us climb under the expectations of our companion. Time to time
these
are our friends and parents till the 20th floor, then our spouse and our
dear ones till the next level of the building. We seldom get to do the
things that we really like and love and are
under so much pressure and stress so that by the age of 20, we get tired
and
decided to dump this load. Being free of the stress and pressure, we
work
enthusiastically and dream ambitious wishes. But by the time we reach 40
years old, we start to lose our vision and dreams. We began to feel
unsatisfied and start to complain and criticize.

We live life as a misery as we are never satisfied. Reaching 60, we
realize
that we have little left for complaining anymore, and we began to walk
the
final episode in peace and calmness. We think that there is nothing left
to
disappoint us, only to realize that
we could not rest in peace because we have an unfulfilled dream...
a dream we abandon 60 years ago.

So what's your dream.....?

Know your dreams and follow it so that you will not live with regrets.

Accept yourself... Believe in yourself... Like yourself...

The Auction

The upstate NY man was rich in almost every way. His estate was worth
millions. He owned houses, land antiques and cattle. But though on the
outside he had it all, he was very unhappy on the inside. His wife was
growing old, and the couple was childless. He had always wanted a little
boy
to carry on the family legacy.

Miraculously, his wife became pregnant in her later years, and she gave
birth to a little boy. The boy was severely handicapped, but the man
loved
him with his whole heart. When the boy was five, his mom died. The dad
drew
closer to his special son. At age 13, the boy's birth defects cost him
his
life and the father died soon after from a broken heart.

The estate was auctioned before hundreds of bidders. The first item
offered
was a painting of the boy. No one bid. They waited like vultures for the
riches.

Finally, the poor housemaid, who helped raise the boy and loved him,
offered
$5 for the painting and easily took the bid. To everyone's shock, the
auctioneer ripped a hand written will from the back of the picture.

This is what it said To the person who thinks enough of my son to buy
this
painting, to this person I give my entire estate.

The auction was over. The greedy crowd walked away in shock and dismay.

THE CROSS

A young man was at the end of his rope, seeing no way out, dropped to
his
knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy of a
cross to bear." The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight,

just place your cross inside this room. Then, open that other door and
pick
out any cross you wish." The man was filled with relief said, "Thank
you,
Lord," and he did as he was told. Upon entering the other door, he saw
many
crosses, some so large the tops were not visible. Then, he spotted a
tiny
cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he
whispered.
And the Lord replied, " My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

When life's problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see
what
other people are coping with. You may consider yourself far more
fortunate
than you imagined. YOUR CROSS, Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
There will always be sunshine after the rain. Perhaps you may stumble,
perhaps even fall, But God's always there to help you through it all.

Concentration

After winning several archery contests, the young and rather boastful
champion challenged a Zen master who was renowned for his skill as an
archer.

The young man demonstrated remarkable technical proficiency when he
hit a distant bull's eye on his first try, and then split that arrow
with his second shot.

"There," he said to the old man, "see if you can match that!"

Undisturbed, the master did not draw his bow, but rather motioned for
the young archer to follow him up the mountain.
Curious about the old fellow's intentions, the champion followed him
high into the mountain until they reached a deep chasm spanned by a
rather flimsy and shaky log.
Calmly stepping out onto the middle of the unsteady and certainly
perilous bridge, the old master picked a far away tree as a target,
drew his bow, and fired a clean, direct hit.

"Now it is your turn," he said as he gracefully stepped back onto the
safe ground. Staring with terror into the seemingly bottomless and
beckoning abyss, the young man could not force himself to step out
onto the log, no less shoot at a target.

"You have much skill with your bow," the master said, sensing his
challenger's predicament, "but you have little skill with the mind
that lets loose the shot."

People's reactions to this story: Lateral Thinking

"Having a big ego gets you nowhere. Some people need to be taken down
a peg or two. If you boast and brag, sooner or later someone is going
to put you in your place."

"Physical skills are not enough. There also has to be a balance
between mind and body. Your mind has to be open and curious."

"You can be highly skilled at something, but still not have a very
creative mind."

"There's a big difference between talent and a disciplined mind. A
disciplined mind is the most crucial element in mastering an art."

"It's just like my mother always used to tell me. 'EXPERIENCE is the
real teacher.' We can learn a lot from our elders."

"The real talent is being able to apply your skills even in the most
adverse situation- without fear, hesitation, or doubt."

"The mind can work with you, or against you."

"People who brag usually lack confidence and are insecure on the
inside. Eventually, this results in their failing."

"Pride cometh before the FALL (pun intended)."

"The mind is the most powerful weapon."

"Learning is most powerful when your knowledge is tested under many
different circumstances. The young archer was skilled under very
specific conditions, but he was unable to apply that skill in an
unfamiliar environment."

"The boy was a good archer but he seemed to be doing it only for the
competition. The old man did it because he enjoyed it, not to prove
anything. This gave him a sense of control."

"An interesting story about how fear can rule one's life."

"This is a great story to teach children who feel that they are
stupid or can't do anything right."

"No matter how much you know, there is always more to learn. But
also, everyone should be respected for whatever knowledge they have."

"The champion has good raw talent but he doesn't know how to use it
properly. He's a show-off and will probably waste his talent. If he
used his skill in a constructive way - like teaching archery, or for
hunting for food or clothing - maybe someday he too will become wise."

"Just goes to show you - don't show off a talent until you've
perfected it."

"If you're talented at something, at least be gracious about it. This
kind of boasting person really turns me off. I love to see someone
really skilled put them in their place!"

"What IS 'talent' anyway? Being good at one thing in one situation?
Seems kind of narrow to me."

"The key is not that the champion was a braggart. He was better at
archery than the master. However, everyone excels at something. The
master at controlling his fear and the champion at shooting a bow.
What makes the master wise is that he could put the champion at such
a disadvantage by maximizing his own skills while minimizing the
braggarts

"Everyone is better when on solid ground. You're more assertive, more
sure of yourself, etc. But when your stability is taken away, you are
simply a child learning everything anew."

Each Life Affects Another

We may not always realize
That everything we do,

Affects our lives
But touches others too.

For a little bit of thoughtfulness
That shows someone you care,

Creates a ray of sunshine
For both of you to share.

Yes, every time you offer
Someone a helping hand...
Every time you have

A kind and gentle word to give...
You help find beauty
In this precious life we live.

For happiness brings happiness
And loving ways bring love;

And giving is the treasure
That contentment is made of.

The Monkey With The Wooden Apples

There once was a happy monkey wandering the jungle, eating delicious
fruit
when hungry, and resting when tired. One day he came upon a house, where
he
saw a bowl of the most beautiful apples. He took one in each hand and
ran
back into the forest.
He sniffed the apples and smelled nothing. He tried to eat them, but
hurt
his teeth. They were made of wood, but they were beautiful, and when the
other monkeys saw them, he held onto them even tighter.

He admired his new possessions proudly as he wandered the jungle. They
glistened red in the sun, and seemed perfect to him. He became so
attached
to them, that he didn't even notice his hunger at first.

A fruit tree reminded him, but he felt the apples in his hands. He
couldn't
bear to set them down to reach for the fruit. In fact, he couldn't
relax,
either, if he was to defend his apples. A proud, but less happy monkey
continued to walk along the forest trails.

The apples became heavier, and the poor little monkey thought about
leaving
them behind. He was tired, hungry, and he couldn't climb trees or
collect
fruit with his hands full. What if he just let go?

Letting go of such valuable things seemed crazy, but what else could he
do?
He was so tired. Seeing the next fruit tree, and smelling it's fruit was
enough. He dropped the wooden apples and reached up for his meal. He was
happy again.

Letting Go Of Wooden Apples

Like that little monkey, we sometimes carry things that seem too
valuable to
let go. A man carries an image of himself as "productive" - carries it
like
a shiny wooden apple. But in reality, his busyness leaves him tired, and
hungry for a better life. Still, letting go seems crazy. Even his
worries
are sacred apples - they prove he's "doing everything he can." He holds
onto
them compulsively.

This is a hard thing to see. We identify so strongly with our things
even,
feeling pain when our cars are dented. How much more powerfully do we
identify with our beliefs and self-ideas? Yet they don't always feed our
souls, do they? And we become tired of defending them.

How else could the story end?

The monkey might be found dead of hunger, under a beautiful tree, with
fruit
within reach, but still grasping his wooden apples.

I chose to end it with him letting go, because only with open hands can
we
recieve.

The Meaning Of Life

If you've never asked the question
Who or when or why or how
Give your mind that great suggestion
Go ahead and do it now

You will find when you consider
All the options that abound
There is still but one conclusion
Where peace of mind is found

It not in education
In religion of in books
In retirement funds and IRAs
Or how the market looks

It's not in status or in style
How low in golf you score
It's not the running of a mile
Or who you're working for

It's not the price you pay for things
It's not the jewels and fancy rings
It's not the checks and credit cards
Secured by all those guns and guards

It's not the beauty of your face
It's not a matter of your race
It's not the muscle on your bones
Your classy looks or great skin tones

What matter most in life today
Is where you stand along the way
Not what you have, but what you are
How faith in God succeeds by far

God is the answer to the question
Of the who, when, why or how
And he gives the invitation
Trust in me and do it now

You'll find God meets your deepest need
With His kind words your soul he'll feed
He guide your steps and make things right
He'll turn darkness into light.
